Play & Creative Arts Therapy
A safe, supportive space where children and young people can express feelings, process experiences and grow in confidence — without needing to find all the words.
Children naturally communicate through play and creativity. When life feels confusing, painful or overwhelming, Play & Creative Arts Therapy offers a developmentally appropriate way to explore what is happening within. Through play, art, sand, clay, stories, movement, music and imagination, a child or young person can make sense of experiences, develop emotional resources and discover new ways of relating to themselves and others.

A diagnosis is not required. If you are unsure whether therapy is appropriate, we can discuss your child's needs and consider the most helpful next step.
A Gentle, Consistent Space
Sessions take place weekly at the same time and place, offering the consistency children need to build trust. Your child will have access to carefully selected creative and play materials and can choose how they wish to engage. I follow their lead while gently supporting the therapeutic process.
There is no pressure to talk; play and creativity provide other ways to communicate. Therapy is not about analysing a child or making them explain their play. It is a relational process in which they can feel accepted, explore safely and develop greater emotional awareness and resilience over time.
What to Expect
Initial parent or carer meeting
We discuss your child's history, current needs and hopes for therapy, and decide whether the service feels suitable.
Weekly child sessions
Your child attends regular sessions in a predictable therapeutic space, giving the consistency children need to build trust.
Reviews
We review progress at agreed points, usually after every six sessions, while protecting the privacy of your child's therapeutic work.
A supported ending
When the time is right, therapy ends thoughtfully, giving your child time to understand and prepare for the transition.
The number of sessions needed varies according to each child's individual circumstances.
Parents and carers are an important part of the process. I will invite your observations and keep communication open while maintaining the confidentiality that helps your child feel safe in therapy.
With consent, I can also liaise with school or other professionals when this would support the work.

An end-of-therapy written report is charged at your standard session rate (£75, or £55–70 on the concession rate). Reports are not prepared for legal proceedings.
“I have had an incredibly positive experience with you. From our very first visit you made my child feel safe and understood without judging me. The sessions are engaging and you have a wonderful, gentle approach that helped my child open up naturally with you. I also appreciate how communicative you are with me giving me advice on how to deal with some situations at home, in public or at school with her. As a parent I feel listened to and included throughout the entire process, so thank you for all the help.”
